Through rapid creative testing we identified critical improvements to logo placement, message clarity, and visual hierarchy. This data-driven approach not only ensured the campaign stood out in crowded urban environments but also proved that impactful creative testing doesn’t have to be slow or costly.

We worked with Baycrest to plan and execute the launch omni-channel campaign for the inaugural Bike for Brain Health. As a not-for-profit, the budget was limited, so it was crucial to make dollars work as hard as possible and create a strong attribution model for sign-ups. The 2022 campaign drove a 315% ROAS and raised almost $3MM for brain health research, and we worked with them again for another successful campaign in 2023.

Rebel & Thorn worked with a DTC jewelry company to grow their ROAS by 70% in 2 years, driven largely by prospecting with first-time buyers. We worked with them to tailor the media mix to the assets they were able to produce as a small business, allowing them to bootstrap their growth.

Real-time creative optimization to improve campaign performance
In 2022, we helped TIFF optimize their creative for their first in-person Next Wave film festival after the COVID-19 pandemic. This campaign was TIFF’s first foray into TikTok ads, and we quickly discovered that recycled Instagram ads were not delivering in the way that TIFF wanted. We quickly recommended creative changes which TIFF was able to shoot on the fly, and the resulting assets almost doubled the clickthrough rate and reduced the cost per acquisition by 95%.

During the annual Festival, TIFF promotes a wide variety of films and events as well as the Festival as a whole. In the 2022 and 2023, we worked with TIFF’s marketing team to leverage a wide variety of creative assets (film stills, posters, trailers, etc.) to promote hundreds of films, with priorities changing in real time. In 2022, we were able to deliver a 3x ROAS and focus on under-sold films that previously got very limited marketing support.

Nevro sells a surgical pain management solution, and Rebel & Thorn was tasked with creating a campaign to drive leads to refer to local surgeons. Rebel & Thorn faced multiple challenges, including exhausting existing retargeting pools, regulations around healthcare marketing, and a niche audience for the procedure. Over 11 months of dedicated testing and learning, Rebel & Thorn got the cost per verified lead down from more than $1600 to under $50, at a scale of over 500 leads per month.
